About the Role

Capital One is seeking a Senior Lead AI Engineer to join the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team, driving enterprise AI/ML infrastructure initiatives. The role focuses on modernizing workflow orchestration and UI with generative AI, building agentic infrastructure, scaling AutoML, and engineering AI-driven governance frameworks. You will work on high-impact AI systems in a regulated environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Modernize the workflow orchestration layer and UI with generative AI capabilities and self-serve, low-code/no-code tooling.
Build reliable, scalable, secure agentic infrastructure that adheres to enterprise guardrails.
Scale enterprise-grade managed AutoML offerings for tabular and time-series data.
Engineer automated governance frameworks for the core component marketplace.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus at least 6 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a Master's degree plus at least 4 years of experience.
At least 6 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.

Nice to Have

7 years of experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent private cloud).
