Capital One is seeking a Senior Manager of Data Science for its AI Foundations team in Chicago. This role leads the development and operationalization of state-of-the-art generative AI, LLM, and NLP solutions for their mobile app and digital assistant, Eno. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in machine learning with strong leadership skills to drive innovation across cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship scalable AI/ML architectures and generative AI solutions for customer-facing applications.
- Lead the full lifecycle of ML/NLP model development, including training, evaluation, and production deployment.
- Partner with product, engineering, and design teams to deliver personalized user experiences powered by LLMs.
- Operationalize models serving 80+ million customers using AWS infrastructure and vector databases.
- Mentor team members and translate complex technical concepts into tangible business goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree plus 7 years, Master's plus 5 years, or PhD plus 2 years in a quantitative field.
- At least 2 years of experience with open-source programming languages for large-scale data analysis.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with machine learning and relational databases.
