Capital One is seeking a Staff AI Engineer to design and deploy scalable, responsible AI systems for its Enterprise Analysis Platform. You will lead the development of an AI-native platform integrating foundation models, LLM inference, and advanced optimization techniques to serve thousands of users across the organization. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to architect, train, and govern production-grade AI solutions while driving technical vision and roadmap strategy.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training and LLM inference
- Implement similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability
- Invent state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to improve scalability, cost, latency, and throughput
- Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems
- Partner with engineers, research scientists, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or AI plus 8+ years of experience, or Master's plus 6+ years
- 8+ years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java
- Strong foundation in engineering, mathematics, hardware, software, and AI
