Moderna is seeking a Senior AI Engineer in Cambridge, MA to provide technical leadership for the design and operation of AI software platforms and cloud-based deployment patterns for Supply Chain and enterprise Digital. The role involves defining architecture for GenAI applications, agentic workflows, and ML services while ensuring compliance with GxP regulations. You will mentor engineers, establish engineering standards, and partner with product leaders to deliver scalable AI solutions.
Responsibilities
- Define technical strategy and reference architecture for AI software delivery, GenAI applications, and cloud data platforms.
- Lead end-to-end cloud deployment standards including Delta Lake/Lakehouse design, Unity Catalog governance, and MLflow lifecycle management.
- Build and review critical software components, APIs, orchestration patterns, and model-serving interfaces.
- Establish engineering practices for AI/ML/LLMOps, including CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and model monitoring.
- Guide integration of SAP and enterprise data sources into trusted data products and decision-support services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 4+ years of software, data, or AI engineering experience, including 2+ years delivering production ML, GenAI, or data-intensive systems.
