QuEra Computing is hiring a Senior Applied AI Engineer to lead the launch of its new internal AI Engineering team. This role focuses on building and deploying LLM-powered tools and agentic systems to streamline company operations, from machine build-up to everyday engineering tasks. The ideal candidate will drive technical direction, establish reusable patterns, and mentor teammates while delivering high-impact software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship end-to-end internal AI tools and features from concept to production.
- Design and deploy LLM and agentic systems including retrieval, tool use, and orchestration.
- Set technical direction and reusable patterns for the AI Engineering team.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into working AI tools.
- Create shared components and infrastructure to accelerate team productivity.
- Optimize models for cost, latency, and reliability while ensuring robust evaluation.
Requirements
- Deep software engineering expertise with a strong track record of shipping production software at scale (primarily Python).
- Substantial hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications, including prompt design, agent design, and RAG.
