Export Development Canada is seeking an AI & Machine Learning Engineer to build and deploy enterprise-grade AI solutions. The role involves transitioning models from research to production, managing the full AI lifecycle, and ensuring responsible AI governance within a hybrid work environment in Ottawa, Toronto, or Montreal.

Responsibilities

Design reusable ML assets like feature pipelines and evaluation frameworks
Collaborate on transitioning models from research to scalable production
Support AI system lifecycle including versioning, monitoring, retraining, and incident response
Lead development and deployment of scalable ML and GenAI solutions on Databricks and Azure
Automate operations using CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code

Requirements

University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Data Science
Minimum 5 years (Level 17) or 7 years (Level 18) experience in AI/ML in enterprise environments
Proficiency in Python, SQL, Java/Scala
Experience with cloud platforms, data platforms, and production systems
Knowledge of GenAI, MLOps, LLMs, and RAG architectures

Nice to Have

Advanced degrees preferred for Level 18
Experience deploying containerized AI workloads
Knowledge of AI security, governance, and risk management concepts
Bilingual proficiency in English and French
Relevant industry certifications in AI or cloud computing
