ByteDance is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join its Dev Infra team and build intelligent systems that enhance developer productivity. The role focuses on developing AI-powered tools for code generation, debugging, testing, and agentic software engineering workflows. Candidates will work at the intersection of large language models, code intelligence, and developer infrastructure to create scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve ML/LLM systems for code generation, unit test generation, and debugging.
- Build AI-powered developer agents and intelligent workflows for multi-step engineering tasks.
- Improve model performance via prompt engineering, context engineering, retrieval, fine-tuning, and reinforcement learning.
- Construct high-quality training and evaluation data pipelines for software engineering tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, AI, ML, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in machine learning, LLMs, code intelligence, or AI developer tools.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Go, Java, C++, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, OS, databases, and system design.
