Join Palo Alto Networks' Prisma AIRS team as a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to build and scale AI security infrastructure. You will lead the development of anomaly detection pipelines, fine-tune Small Language Models (SLMs) for edge-cloud security, and implement advanced data classification strategies using NLP and deep learning. This role operates at the intersection of machine learning, cloud security, and AI safety, requiring strong technical leadership to integrate autonomous threat prevention solutions into production.
Responsibilities
- Develop scalable anomaly detection pipelines for monitoring cloud environments and AI agent actions.
- Lead SLM tuning initiatives to optimize models for low-latency, high-accuracy edge-cloud security tasks.
- Drive advanced data classification strategies using ML, NLP, and deep learning on massive datasets.
- Partner with product, security, and cloud engineering teams to integrate ML solutions into production systems.
Requirements
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, AI, ML, Statistics, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years dedicated to ML, NLP, or AI systems.
- Deep expertise in Python and hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Proven experience with LLMs/SLMs, prompt engineering, and model fine-tuning.
