This role combines machine learning expertise with cybersecurity detection engineering to analyze complex attack sequences and develop precise, deterministic threat signatures. You will own the end-to-end detection lifecycle, collaborating with threat research and deep learning teams to enhance network defense mechanisms while minimizing false positives.
Responsibilities
- Analyze multi-stage attack behavior sequences and translate them into deterministic signatures
- Develop and maintain high-performance signatures for inline enforcement without impacting throughput
- Own the signature lifecycle from research and threat modeling to deployment and deprecation
- Drive continuous false-positive tuning and validation processes
- Partner with threat research and ML teams to integrate behavioral signatures with deep learning classifiers
Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or equivalent practical experience
- 4+ years in detection engineering, threat analysis, or security research
- Deep expertise in signature-based patterns (Snort/Suricata, YARA, custom threat signatures)
- Strong knowledge of detection-as-code and automated testing pipelines
