Join Google DeepMind's Gemini Security team as a Research Engineer building detection methods and real-time interventions to protect Gemini from unauthorized distillation. You will research, train, and deploy security introspection heads for large-scale LLMs, improving their training, serving, and deployment in production. The role sits within Development and Infrastructure and contributes to the safety and security of one of the world's most widely used AI models.
Responsibilities
- Research, build, and land improvements (training and inference) for Gemini security introspection heads
- Research, build, and land real-time interventions triggered by introspection heads
- Partner with the introspection team to improve heads training, serving, and deployments
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with large-scale LLM training and serving infrastructure
- Experience training security or safety classifiers for large AI models
- Experience deploying security or safety classifiers
Nice to Have
- 2 years of experience in software development or engineering
