About the Role
Temporal Technologies is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for its AI Foundations team to lead agent optimization efforts. You will design and build trusted agentic coding systems, take end-to-end ownership of features, and serve as a domain expert on AI design patterns. The role focuses on improving developer experience and ensuring high-quality AI output, with opportunities to collaborate closely with the developer community.
Responsibilities
- Design and build agentic coding systems that deliver trusted, high-quality outputs
- Take end-to-end ownership of new features, collaborating with teams to ensure reliability and developer experience
- Work across Python, TypeScript, Java, and Go
- Serve as a domain expert on AI design patterns and provide best-practice examples
- Debug issues with the developer community and write public technical documentation
- Occasionally travel for team meetups and conferences (optional)
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Proven experience optimizing AI systems with machine learning and systems techniques
- Experience with generative AI, particularly for agents and coding
- Fluency in multiple programming languages and affinity for learning new ones
- Deep experience with concurrency primitives (mutexes, atomics, etc.)
