About the Role

Benchling is seeking an Agentic AI Engineer to build reliable production systems around modern foundation models for enterprise agentic AI. This founding role on the Intelligence Engineering & Enablement team will define architecture, ship code, and enable AI builders across the company.

Responsibilities

Shape technical direction and architecture for enterprise agentic AI.
Build and ship production code, CI/CD, testing, evaluation, and deployment infrastructure.
Design for enterprise security: multi-tenant isolation, secrets management, audit logging, RBAC, human-in-the-loop controls.
Enable builders: coach power users, develop prototype graduation criteria, build internal developer experience.
Partner with data, platform, and security teams.
Elevate engineering standards and drive technical hiring.

Requirements

7+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems.
Hands-on experience with LLMs/agentic patterns.
Production experience with Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or Go.
Experience with LLM APIs, agentic frameworks, RAG, vector databases, workflow automation, LLM observability.
Track record of zero-to-one platform/product building.
Enterprise security fundamentals.
