[Remote] Computer Vision & Machine Learning Engineer

Buzz Solutions is seeking a remote Machine Learning Engineer to join their computer vision team, building AI solutions for power grid infrastructure maintenance. The role focuses on adapting foundational models into production-ready systems for equipment defect detection, thermal anomaly identification, and vegetation encroachment monitoring. It bridges the gap between research and production, requiring strong engineering practices and hands-on model development.

• Stay current with ML/CV research and evaluate promising methods for the domain
• Adapt and implement algorithms from papers, validating against baselines and benchmarking for production viability
• Own end-to-end computer vision projects for equipment defect detection, thermal anomaly identification, and vegetation encroachment monitoring
• Design and execute experiments with hyperparameter tuning, ablation studies, and appropriate baselines
• Perform structured error analysis and break down performance by data slices such as object size, occlusion, and image quality
• Select and justify model architectures based on task requirements, latency, and accuracy tradeoffs
• Design and implement data pipelines, experiment tracking, model versioning, and serving pipelines
• Conduct code reviews, write integration tests, and communicate research findings clearly to stakeholders
