Muon Space is seeking a Computer Vision Engineer to design and implement image processing algorithms and ML models for ground and flight systems. The role focuses on low-latency deployment of segmentation and classification models onto cloud and edge infrastructure. You will own the ML data engineering foundation and optimize algorithms for mission-critical performance.
Responsibilities
- Design, train, and evaluate image processing models for ground and onboard flight systems.
- Build and maintain the image and ML data engineering foundation including curation and labeling.
- Optimize algorithms for low latency on cloud compute and edge/onboard environments.
- Hand off models to cloud serving stacks and define acceptance criteria with mission teams.
- Own verification and validation processes including unit and performance regression tests.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, CE, EE, Applied Math, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience developing, shipping, and operating image computation or ML systems.
- Strong PyTorch skills for end-to-end model design, training, and evaluation.
- Production experience with low-latency models deployed as containerized workloads (AWS preferred).
