Muon Space is seeking a Computer Vision Engineer to optimize high-performance imaging pipelines for satellite data products. The role focuses on re-implementing critical stages like bundle adjustment and orthorectification in C++ with GPU acceleration to reduce latency and increase throughput. This is a hands-on implementation position requiring deep expertise in classical imaging algorithms and high-performance computing.
Responsibilities
- Implement and optimize imaging-pipeline stages (bundle adjustment, orthorectification) in performant C++
- Expose optimized C++ components cleanly to Python pipelines
- Drive down pipeline latency by replacing expensive stages with GPU-based implementations
- Partner with HPC GPU specialists for hardware acceleration opportunities
- Own verification and validation including unit, integration, and performance regression tests in CI
- Produce clear designs, trade studies, and interface documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, CE, EE, Applied Math, or related field
- 3+ years of professional experience developing performance-critical C++ software in production
- Expert-level C++ with deep familiarity with memory management, concurrency, and performance-oriented programming
