Matroid is seeking a Senior Computer Vision Engineer to build and deploy production-grade deep learning systems for enterprise customers. You will work directly with clients to adapt vision-language models (VLMs) and visual foundation models (VFMs) for complex tasks like defect inspection and anomaly detection. The role combines hands-on model engineering with technical leadership and customer-facing solutions architecture.
Responsibilities
- Build and deploy deep learning systems using VLMs, VFMs, and specialized vision-centric models.
- Own technical delivery from scoping and feasibility assessment through production deployment.
- Design cloud, edge, and hybrid deployments optimizing for latency, GPU utilization, and throughput.
- Establish evaluation datasets and improve model accuracy through data curation and augmentation.
- Develop imaging systems and connect Matroid to customer equipment (PLCs, SCADA, etc.).
- Guide customers through technical decisions and troubleshoot complex integration issues.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in CS, Engineering, ML, AI, or Robotics.
- Strong experience with visual recognition tasks: detection, segmentation, tracking, and anomaly detection.
