Senior Machine Learning Engineer , AI Platform

WHOOP is seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer to scale the AI platform powering features like WHOOP Coach and AI Support. The role involves building production AI systems, fine-tuning LLMs, and developing evaluation pipelines. Based in Boston, MA.

• Design, build, and operate production AI systems and scaffolding around language models. Lead end-to-end AI system initiatives. Build and maintain pipelines for data curation and dataset creation. Operationalize fine-tuning and evaluation workflows for LLMs. Develop tooling for experimentation and observability. Build feedback loops for continuous improvement. Mentor other engineers.

• 3+ years experience in applied ML or AI engineering. Hands-on experience with modern language models (open-weight or API-based). Solid understanding of ML fundamentals. Familiarity with LLM training techniques like SFT, DPO, RL. Proven track record of shipping ML systems. Strong proficiency in data manipulation and analysis. Familiarity with secure AI practices. Excellent communication skills.
