The SEI AI Division at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Research Scientist to join the Secure AI Lab. The role involves conducting research on vulnerabilities of AI/ML algorithms and developing defenses against adversarial attacks. Responsibilities include hands-on research, solution development, and mentoring junior team members. This position requires expertise in machine learning and experience in adversarial ML.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and lead novel research in applied machine learning and artificial intelligence; work with and lead interdisciplinary teams to turn research results into prototype operational capabilities; plan and carry out research strategy; collaborate with researchers and government customers; mentor junior team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, machine learning, electrical engineering or related with 10 years experience; OR MS with 8 years; OR PhD with 5 years; comprehensive knowledge of machine learning; experience leading research projects; strong communication skills; willingness to work onsite 5 days/week; ability to obtain security clearance; travel up to 25%.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in adversarial machine learning preferred but not required.
