ServiceNow is seeking a Senior Research Engineer/Scientist to lead the research and engineering of large language models for enterprise use cases. The role involves owning the full lifecycle of LLM development, including data curation, pretraining, fine-tuning, and evaluation, to build next-generation AI capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Research, propose, implement, train, and evaluate LLMs and techniques end-to-end.
- Build and maintain training pipelines and evaluation harnesses for reproducible results.
- Optimize training and inference efficiency using distributed training strategies.
- Collaborate with research scientists, engineers, and product managers to deliver high-impact AI solutions.
Requirements
- Expert-level Python with strong OOP and design-pattern fundamentals.
- 6+ years of relevant experience (or 4+ with advanced degree).
- Expertise in LLM post-training (SFT, distillation) and reinforcement learning (PPO, DPO, GRPO).
- Hands-on experience with distributed training frameworks like FSDP, DeepSpeed, and Megatron.
- Experience with synthetic data generation and large-scale data curation.
