Epic Games is seeking a Senior AI Research Engineer to design and implement memory architectures for foundation models in the gaming industry. The role focuses on enabling models to represent experience, decide what information to retain, and efficiently exploit long-horizon context across various modalities. • Design new memory architectures that work across problems, modalities, and products
• Define new ways to measure and evaluate memory performance in foundation models
• Create and deliver production-ready, scalable, and high-quality learning models and associated algorithms
• Critically assess model effectiveness and recommend ongoing roadmap improvements

• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field, OR 3+ years of relevant industry experience
• Experience creating machine learning algorithms for vision and/or language problems
• Expertise in deploying ML systems as production-level solutions
• Hands-on knowledge of foundational models, including local deployment and post-training of open weights models
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-learn)
