SE3 Labs is seeking a Staff Computer Vision Engineer to lead the development of visual localization algorithms for autonomous unmanned systems. The role involves designing robust VIO and SLAM solutions for GNSS-degraded environments, optimizing real-time deployment on edge hardware like Nvidia Jetson, and providing technical leadership within a defense-focused team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance VIO, SLAM, and sensor fusion algorithms for UAVs and robotic platforms.
- Implement production-level C++ software optimized for constrained CPU/GPU environments.
- Lead complex technical projects, review code, and mentor junior engineers.
- Conduct live sensor testing and participate in flight operations.
- Build evaluation tools for regression testing and performance validation.
Requirements
- Proven experience building and deploying VIO, SLAM, or sensor-fusion systems.
- Strong foundation in 3D geometry, linear algebra, probability, and estimation (EKFs, factor graphs).
- Production-level proficiency in C++ for Linux; Python for analysis/tooling.
- Experience working with real cameras and IMUs, including calibration and timing.
- Master’s or PhD in a relevant technical field.
