Robinhood is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to lead the development of its AI Platform & Agentic Apps team. You will design and build the core agent harness, focusing on orchestration, tool integrations, and safety guardrails for both internal and customer-facing agents. This role requires deep expertise in evaluating LLM-based systems and implementing production-grade agentic workflows.

Responsibilities

Design and build the core agent harness including orchestration, context management, and memory.
Ship end-to-end agentic applications that take real actions on behalf of users.
Build trajectory-level evaluation systems to measure agent reasoning and action correctness.
Architect action guardrails such as permission models, approval gates, and sandboxing.
Create SDKs and CI regression gates for evals and guardrails to ensure platform adoption.

Requirements

10+ years of experience as an ML Engineer or ML-focused software engineer.
Strong Python and distributed-systems fundamentals with a track record of shipping LLM-powered systems.
Hands-on experience building agentic systems (tool use, planning, context management) in production.
Deep expertise in evaluating agents via trajectory-level evals and simulation environments.
