Plato is building the AI OS for litigation lawyers to automate complex legal workflows. As a Founding AI Engineer, you will design and ship agentic workflows, process unstructured legal documents, and turn prototypes into reliable production systems. You will work directly with the CTO to solve high-stakes problems in the legal domain using modern AI stacks.
Responsibilities
- Design and build agentic workflows and autonomous long-running agents
- Extract, structure, and reason over large volumes of unstructured legal documents
- Turn prototypes and experiments into production-ready features
- Evaluate and improve agent outcomes through testing, evals, and iteration
- Build backend services and infrastructure on AWS to run AI reliably at scale
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a software or AI engineer
- Strong software engineering foundation, ideally with TypeScript and Node.js
- Experience shipping production systems
- Familiarity with AI agent frameworks (e.g., Mastra, Langchain) and evaluation tools
- Ability to take AI problems from experimentation to production
