Join a Y Combinator-backed HealthTech startup in Paris as a Founding AI Engineer to build LLM-based agents for automating medical coding workflows. You will collaborate directly with the CTO to design, develop, and deploy production-ready AI systems that reduce administrative burdens on healthcare professionals. This role offers high ownership across the full AI lifecycle, from architecture and prompt engineering to monitoring and evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop LLM-based systems to automate complex medical coding workflows.
- Build and optimize agentic workflows tailored to healthcare operational constraints.
- Define AI/ML architecture and roadmap in collaboration with the CTO.
- Construct secure data pipelines for ingesting and processing sensitive health data.
- Implement robust evaluation methods for AI system performance.
- Manage the full lifecycle of AI features including research, prototyping, production, and monitoring.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience applying Machine Learning/AI in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Concrete experience with LLMs/NLP and generative AI product development.
- Experience with prompt engineering, model evaluation, or fine-tuning.
