Flexport is building AI agents to automate global logistics. As a Staff Software Engineer on the Applied AI team, you will design and ship end-to-end AI agents that handle customs compliance, document processing, and exception management. You'll work directly with operators and leadership to solve high-impact problems and shape the future of autonomous supply chains.
Responsibilities
- Design and ship end-to-end AI agents for logistics tasks such as customs compliance, document processing, and exception management
- Cross organizational boundaries to understand problems, align stakeholders, and drive execution
- Move fast from idea to production, treating each deployment as a learning opportunity
- Work directly with operators, domain experts, and leadership to turn ambiguous problems into shipped solutions
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with extensive LLM use in production or side projects
- Strong product instincts to identify what is worth building
- LLM fluency: agent patterns, RAG, prompt engineering, tool use, evaluation
- Full-stack capability in TypeScript and Next.js
- Entrepreneurial drive and ability to thrive in ambiguity
