Founding AI Engineer

Flexgen is building an AI agent that can complete real design tasks on existing products, understanding design systems, context, and layout to generate production-quality UI. As the Founding AI Engineer, you will architect the agentic reasoning system, own multi-agent orchestration, design RAG pipelines, and build evaluation frameworks that measure senior designer quality at scale. This is a pre-seed opportunity with significant equity in a remote-first team.

• Architect and build the agentic reasoning system that turns design expertise into production AI
• Own the multi-agent orchestration layer for collaborating specialized AI systems
• Design RAG pipelines for retrieving and applying design patterns at the right moments
• Build evaluation frameworks that measure 'senior designer quality' at scale
• Experiment with frontier approaches and shape technical strategy

• Deep LLM expertise: model inference, fine-tuning, context optimization, and production-level prompt engineering
• Experience designing RAG systems from scratch: chunking strategies, embedding models, retrieval, and re-ranking
• Track record debugging agentic systems in production: loops, hallucinations, tool selection failures, context management
• Experience building evaluation frameworks for systematic quality measurement
• MLOps/LLMOps experience and familiarity with model training pipelines and deployment at scale
