AgentMail is building the identity layer for AI agents, starting with email. We're hiring an Agent Experience Engineer to own how AI models and agents discover and use AgentMail—covering AEO, evals, benchmarks, agent traces, docs, and llms.txt. You'll measure answer-engine presence, run agent traces, improve the agent-facing surface (including MCP and llms.txt), and drive the AEO content engine. Backed by General Catalyst and Y Combinator, the role offers a competitive salary and equity.
Responsibilities
Own answer-engine presence: measure and improve share of voice for AgentMail when LLMs answer questions about email or identity for agents
Conduct original research: evals and benchmarks on how frontier and open source models, plus agent harnesses, use AgentMail
Run agent traces against docs and site, read reasoning, and fix points of confusion
Improve the agent-facing surface: llms.txt, MCP descriptions, docs structure, and error messages agents encounter
Steer the AEO content engine: verify automated page pipeline, brief freelancers, and do backlink outreach
Maintain the weekly AEO briefing action queue, from freshness debt to competitor watch
Requirements
Build with agents daily and have opinions on what makes a product easy or miserable for an agent to use
Work cross-functionally by default
Express opinions early and publish honest writeups even when inconvenient
