Staff AI Engineer

A marketing technology company is seeking a Staff AI Engineer to own the architecture and execution of data platforms and LLM-powered products. The role spans data backend and ML engineering, including data pipelines, model integration, deployment, evals, and mentoring senior engineers. Candidates should have 8+ years in production data systems, deep Python experience, and hands-on NLP/LLM deployment at scale.

• Lead end-to-end architecture for data platforms and pipelines: scraping, data extraction, transformation, storage, serving, and ML/LLM integration.
• Incrementally scale pipelines and systems with safe rollout plans and north-star data-quality metrics.
• Translate business goals into actionable data products and draft crisp RFCs.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards for testing, evals, observability, data contracts, and security.
• Up-level the org through architecture reviews, mentoring, documentation, and code reviews.
• Prototype data/ML capabilities, evaluate feasibility and ROI, and make pragmatic productionalization decisions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, DevOps, product managers, and designers.

• 8+ years building and operating production data systems, including leading cross-cutting architectural changes and deploying LLMs at scale.
• Deep experience with Python and modern service architectures; strong system design and data modeling fundamentals.
