Applied AI Engineer

Material Bank, the world's largest material marketplace for architecture and design, is hiring a senior Applied AI Engineer to build AI-powered product experiences. The role spans multimodal search, content generation, RAG systems, and agentic workflows. You'll architect and deploy scalable AI systems in production while collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams.

• Design, build, and deploy end-to-end AI-powered product experiences from concept to production.
• Architect and implement scalable AI systems using LLMs, embeddings, multimodal models, retrieval systems, agent frameworks, and modern data infrastructure.
• Build production-grade multi-agent workflows with LangGraph, LangChain, Mastra, and custom tooling.
• Develop and optimize RAG systems, including embeddings, vector search, retrieval pipelines, and relevance tuning.
• Build multimodal AI workflows that analyze images, creative assets, and visual datasets.
• Evaluate and improve AI-generated outputs through testing and human-in-the-loop strategies.
• Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, Data, and Executive Leadership to define AI capabilities.

• 8+ years of experience building and shipping production software, including full-stack engineering.
• Proven experience designing and deploying production-grade AI/ML systems.
