About the Role
EchoStar is seeking an AI Data Engineer to design and build scalable, production-ready AI data infrastructure using Databricks, Spark, and Delta Lake. This role involves implementing automated CI/CD workflows with GitLab, integrating AI-driven monitoring on AWS, and collaborating with Data Science and Product teams to bring models into production. Requires 3+ years of data engineering experience with Python and SQL.
Responsibilities
- Deliver scalable, high-performance data pipelines using Databricks and Spark
- Build fully automated CI/CD workflows within GitLab
- Apply SOLID engineering principles and modular design to create reusable testing frameworks
- Lead technical code reviews and mentor peers
- Integrate AI-driven automation tools to monitor pipeline health and optimize AWS resources
- Facilitate collaboration between Data Science and Product teams to productionize models
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
- Expertise in Databricks, Spark, and Delta Lake
- Strong foundation in DevOps methodologies, infrastructure-as-code, Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitLab workflows
