J.P. Morgan Payments is seeking a Senior Associate Applied AI/ML Scientist in Chicago to build machine learning models, services, and platforms that streamline payment processes, strengthen fraud detection, and enrich customer experience across a payments network handling $10 trillion daily. The role centers on designing and deploying agentic systems built on LLMs and scalable data pipelines, in partnership with Product, Technology, Risk, and Compliance teams. You will translate model outcomes into business impact metrics and communicate insights to senior management and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product, Technology, and cross-functional teams to formulate data-driven AI/ML solutions for complex payments problems
- Design, develop, and deploy agentic systems using LLMs and machine learning, balancing model complexity, scalability, and latency against business success metrics
- Build highly scalable and dependable data processing pipelines and derive insights to optimize business outcomes
- Partner with Risk and Compliance teams on model documentation, performance tracking, and regulatory adherence
- Translate model outcomes into business impact metrics and communicate complex concepts to senior management and stakeholders
Requirements
- Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics/Statistics, or Operations Research) with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience
