J.P. Morgan is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to build and operate scalable ML training platforms on AWS. The role focuses on productionizing GPU-based training workloads, optimizing distributed training performance, and implementing robust MLOps practices including CI/CD and observability. You will enable Gen AI/LLM fine-tuning workflows while ensuring security, governance, and cost efficiency across enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain end-to-end ML training platforms and pipelines on AWS/Kubernetes.
- Optimize GPU training workloads for throughput, utilization, and reproducibility.
- Enable Gen AI/LLM training and fine-tuning workflows with proper governance.
- Implement observability systems (metrics, logs, dashboards) for training infrastructure.
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices and secure coding standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong Python skills.
- Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
- Experience running ML training in cloud environments (AWS EKS, EC2, S3).
- Knowledge of distributed training concepts (DDP, FSDP, DeepSpeed).
- Proficiency in building automation/CI for ML codebases.
