About the Role
Chicago Trading Company (CTC), a premier proprietary trading firm, seeks a Senior AI/ML Engineer to define and build how the firm leverages AI across engineering, quant, and trading teams. This role, within the Developer Experience organization, combines technical and strategic responsibility—partnering with leadership on AI strategy, evaluating emerging technologies, and shipping AI capabilities that drive real adoption.
Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership to shape CTC's AI strategy as the space evolves.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and make adoption recommendations.
- Build and ship AI capabilities that drive real adoption across engineering, quant, and trading teams.
- Understand workflows and build tools that fit how people work.
- Establish sensible practices for deployment, security, and governance.
Requirements
- 7+ years of engineering experience building and shipping developer tools, platforms, or internal tooling with broad adoption.
- Applied experience with LLMs and generative AI.
- Python proficiency required.
- Background in demanding technical environments (proprietary trading, hedge funds, or similar).
- Good judgment about where AI adds value and where it doesn't.
- Comfort with ambiguity and working closely with senior leadership.
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
