About the Role
AbbVie is seeking a Lead AI Automation Engineer to design and implement AI-powered automation solutions for Corporate Services and HR. This role involves bridging business needs with technical execution, building prototypes, and mentoring the team. The position requires expertise in Python, AI/ML frameworks, and agentic workflows, and is based in Lake County, IL with a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities
- Engage with stakeholders to understand current-state processes, pain points, and success metrics; translate into technical solution designs.
- Engineer scalable AI automation solutions, delivering clean, production-ready code integrated with enterprise systems.
- Prioritize rapid prototyping and iterative development to accelerate time-to-value.
- Ensure code quality through thorough code reviews and technical guidance.
- Manage SDLC and project milestones, acting as System Owner.
- Mentor engineers, architects, and analysts in design thinking, agentic AI, and automation best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years experience, Master's with 6+ years, or PhD with 2+ years.
- Expert-level Python proficiency for production-quality code in automation and AI/ML.
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks, LLM orchestration, agentic workflows, and prompt engineering.
- Proven ability to deliver and maintain production-grade software in enterprise environments.
