About the Role
Build the creative layer for AI as an AI Engineer at a well-funded startup. Develop agent harnesses, evaluation pipelines, synthetic data generation, and retrieval infrastructure. This is a backend-heavy full-stack role.
Responsibilities
- Build AI core: agent harnesses, memory loops, self-improvement systems, evaluation pipelines, synthetic data generation
- Design retrieval at scale: embedding and indexing infrastructure, crawling and scraping systems
- Ship product surface: internal tools for data ops, external tools for clients, gamified flows
- Own inference stack: APIs, serving, tooling for reliability and speed
Requirements
- 4+ years of full-stack or backend engineering, with startup or hyper-growth experience
- Shipped real AI systems: agent frameworks, RAG pipelines, embedding infrastructure, fine-tuning workflows
- Strong Python, comfortable with React, cloud infra, and CI/CD
- Comfortable with crawling, scraping, and large-scale data processing
- Curiosity about taste, design, and subjective quality
