About the Role
Trend Micro seeks an Applied AI Engineer to define AI development lifecycles and build self-service tools for developers. This hybrid role in Austin, TX focuses on integrating Generative AI with platform engineering to scale AI capabilities securely.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the end-to-end AI development lifecycle, including guardrails and engineering standards.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives to scale AI capabilities and enhance developer experience.
- Design self-service tooling, templates, and patterns to simplify AI-powered application development.
- Uphold high engineering standards and mentor team members.
- Treat internal platforms as products, iterating based on developer feedback and adoption metrics.
- Develop foundational components for safe and effective AI integration.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Strong programming skills and engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with modern software delivery practices (CI/CD, cloud environments).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and influence without direct authority.
