Northrop Grumman is seeking an AI Software Engineer to build and fine-tune Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, agentic AI systems, and large language model (LLM) solutions for defense applications. The role involves rapid prototyping, model integration, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable AI services. Candidates should have a background in computer science or STEM and experience with AI/ML technologies.
Responsibilities
Define, develop, and deliver AI solutions to meet mission and sector needs
Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy ML algorithms into production
Rapid prototyping and delivery: turn use-case specs into working prototypes in 2-4 weeks
Design and implement RAG pipelines and agentic workflows with LLMs (GPT-4, Llama)
Integrate fine-tuned models into micro-service architectures via REST/GraphQL/gRPC
Set up monitoring, logging, and automated testing for AI services
Curate and annotate datasets for fine-tuning and evaluation
Write technical documentation and mentor junior teammates
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related STEM field with 2+ years of experience (or Master's with entry-level experience) for Level 2; Bachelor's with 5+ years or Master's with 3+ years for Level 3
