CarCutter, an AI media enhancement company, is seeking a Senior/Lead Computer Vision Engineer to own computer vision and generative AI features from research to production. You will work on production-grade AI systems, evaluating state-of-the-art technologies and optimizing pipelines for performance and scalability. This is primarily an individual contributor role with 20% technical leadership, based in Paris with a hybrid work model.
Responsibilities
Own computer vision and generative AI features end to end, from research and prototyping to production deployment.
Evaluate state-of-the-art computer vision and generative AI technologies, including open-source models and API-based solutions, using rigorous benchmarks.
Design, implement, and optimize production-grade pipelines with a focus on inference performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to integrate AI solutions into customer-facing products.
Write clear technical documentation covering system design, model behavior, evaluation methods, and operational considerations.
Support the team through knowledge sharing, technical guidance, and mentoring.
Requirements
Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or a related field.

At least 6 years of industry experience in AI, machine learning, or computer vision.
Strong programming skills in Python and deep expertise in PyTorch.
Hands-on experience with classical image and signal processing, deep learning-based perception models (segmentation, detection, refinement), and generative models including diffusion architectures.
Proven ability to take AI systems from concept to production, including deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Nice to Have
Contributions to open-source AI or computer vision projects.
Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines for machine learning systems.
Experience deploying and operating machine learning models in the cloud, preferably on AWS.
Experience optimizing model inference performance.
Previous experience providing technical leadership or mentoring engineers.
