Senior AI Engineer

Homebased is a 9-person startup building an AI-powered event agency. We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join our small team, build multi-agent workflows, and ship to production daily. You will work directly with the founders on a TypeScript monorepo using Mastra, Azure OpenAI, and Next.js.

• Build multi-agent workflows and write system prompts in Italian and English.
• Design and build new agents with Zod output schemas and wire AI workflows end-to-end.
• Own prompt performance through measurement, optimization, and iteration.
• Architect multi-step pipelines with parallel execution, concurrency control, and error recovery.
• Implement document processing capabilities and create tools for agent interactions.
• Drive features from idea to production in a fast-paced startup environment.

• 5+ years building software with production AI/LLM experience.
• Expertise in prompt engineering for structured outputs and multilingual prompts.
• Advanced TypeScript skills (generics, Zod, type inference).
• Experience with workflow orchestration (Mastra, LangGraph, or similar).
• Full-stack ability to connect AI to Next.js API routes and React frontends.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and ORM (Prisma or similar).
