Foundation Robotics Labs is seeking an AI Engineer to architect world models for their general-purpose humanoid robots. This role focuses on building the cognitive backbone that enables robots to plan, predict, and adapt in complex, unstructured physical environments. The ideal candidate will bridge deep learning research with real-time robotics integration.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement internal world models for humanoid robot navigation and reasoning
- Develop predictive world simulators and model-based reinforcement learning systems
- Close the sim-to-real gap using simulation environments like Isaac Sim and MuJoCo
- Integrate learned representations into latency-sensitive C++ inference pipelines
- Translate recent arXiv research prototypes into tested, integrated production systems
Requirements
- Hands-on experience shipping world models, model-based RL, or predictive simulators
- Strong foundation in deep learning architectures: transformers, diffusion models, NeRF, and variational recurrent state-space models
- Proficiency in Python for R&D and production-level C++ for real-time robotics
- Experience with robotics middleware (ROS2) and simulation tools
