Hermeus is seeking an Autonomy Software Engineer to develop flight autonomy capabilities for its supersonic vehicle fleet. You will design and implement mission-autonomy behaviors, guidance and control loops, and navigation systems using modern C++. This hands-on role involves integrating autonomy software into aircraft architectures, running simulations, and participating in flight testing to progressively achieve higher levels of autonomous operation.
Responsibilities
- Develop modern C++ software for flight autonomy, guidance, navigation, and control
- Design and implement mission-autonomy behaviors and vehicle decision-making capabilities
- Integrate autonomy capabilities into existing aircraft software architectures and command-and-control systems
- Develop automated test suites, simulation scenarios, and utilities to verify autonomy performance
- Participate in software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, ground-test, and flight-test activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, or related field
- Strong proficiency with modern C++ and production-quality software development
- Experience with autonomous systems, robotics, or unmanned vehicles
- Knowledge of guidance and control algorithms, trajectory generation, or state estimation
