About the Role
CARIAD, the automotive software company of the Volkswagen Group, seeks a Senior Cloud Scala Engineer to join its AI Platform team developing ground truth generation and labeling infrastructure for ADAS/AD functions. The role involves building scalable cloud services for data annotation, orchestration, and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and maintain tools for ground truth generation including 2D and 3D labeling editors/viewers.
- Implement manual AI-assisted search, selection, planning, monitoring, and management of labeling tasks.
- Orchestrate ground truth processes and co-architect highly available and scalable cloud services.
- Monitor and support operations to ensure scalability and cost efficiency for services with over 1,000 daily users.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Scala and Python; bonus: Java, JavaScript, and/or C/C++.
- Experience developing distributed applications on Kubernetes with Infrastructure as Code (Helm).
- Practical experience with Azure services (EventHub, Service Bus, Storage Queues, Blob Containers).
- Working knowledge of relational databases and data warehouses (PostgreSQL, Databricks) and non-relational databases (Redis).
- Experience with workflow and batch processing on Kubernetes using Argo Workflows or Apache Airflow.
