Join Clera as a Founding Engineer to build the core infrastructure for a production-grade LLM gateway. You will design and implement backend services in Go and Python, managing architectural decisions for scalability and observability within a Kubernetes-based environment. This role offers significant equity and direct collaboration with founders at a seed-stage AI infrastructure startup.
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services for an LLM routing and observability platform
- Own architectural decisions across a microservices stack balancing scalability and pragmatism
- Develop core gateway services in Go and auxiliary ML/AI services in Python
- Select and apply appropriate database and caching technologies (SQL, distributed caches)
- Manage and evolve Kubernetes-based infrastructure
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building backend services in compiled languages, preferably Go
- Strong understanding of concurrency in production systems
- Experience selecting and using various database and caching technologies
- Ability to design scalable yet pragmatic architectures for early-stage products
- Track record of independently learning and applying new technologies
