commercetools is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to own end-to-end AI capabilities, from data grounding and agent orchestration to generative UI implementation. You will build production-grade systems using LLMs, agents, and modern UI protocols like MCP and A2UI to power autonomous commerce solutions. This role requires strong full-stack engineering skills combined with deep experience in deploying LLM applications to real users.
Responsibilities
- Build agent loops and orchestration systems with tool use and structured outputs
- Develop integration layers via MCP for secure backend API calls
- Render model output into live, streamed, accessible UI using generative-UI protocols
- Ground models in real data using retrieval, embeddings, and feedback loops
- Implement evaluation systems to measure and improve model performance
- Ship and operate full-stack AI features in production
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience shipping production software
- 2+ years building with LLMs in production environments
- Hands-on experience with UI protocols (A2UI, AG-UI, MCP-UI)
- Proficiency in Python and TypeScript/Node + React
- Experience with async programming, streaming, and observability
