commercetools is seeking an AI Engineer to own end-to-end AI capabilities, from data ingestion and agent orchestration to generative UI delivery. You will build production-grade systems integrating LLMs with backend APIs, implement retrieval and feedback loops, and establish rigorous evaluation frameworks. This role requires a full-stack background with hands-on experience shipping LLM-powered applications to real users.
Responsibilities
- Build agent loops and orchestration with tool use and structured outputs
- Develop integration layers via MCP for secure backend and API calls
- Render model outputs into live, streamed, accessible UI using generative-UI protocols
- Ground models in real data using retrieval, embeddings, and feedback loops
- Implement first-class evaluation systems to measure and improve model performance
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience shipping full-stack production software
- 2+ years building LLM applications for real users in production
- Hands-on experience with generative/agent-driven UI protocols (A2UI, AG-UI, MCP-UI)
- Proficiency in Python and TypeScript/Node + React, including async streaming and observability
- Working fluency with retrieval/embeddings architectures and SQL
