Clera is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer - AI to join their early-stage B2B construction technology startup in Berlin. The role focuses on building end-to-end AI features, including agentic chat workflows and document processing, while maintaining full-stack responsibilities using TypeScript and Python. You will own the lifecycle from database schema design and LLM optimization to UI implementation and evaluation frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Build and own end-to-end AI features including document versioning and agentic chat workflows.
- Design and implement full-stack features covering database schemas, LLM tuning, evaluation, and UI.
- Manage evaluations, scoring, and error analysis to ensure AI output quality.
- Model and evolve construction ontologies and project graphs for entity resolution.
- Extend multi-modal ingestion of unstructured documents (PDFs, scans, drawings, 3D models).
- Build integrations with customer systems like ERP and document management platforms.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer delivering production-grade applied AI.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, Python, and SQL.
- Experience with backend APIs and ORMs such as Fastify and Prisma.
