Capital One is seeking a Senior Lead AI Engineer to join the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team, focusing on GenAI Platform Services and Agentic systems. You will design, develop, and deploy scalable AI infrastructure including foundation model training, LLM inference, and guardrails to enhance customer experiences responsibly. This role requires deep technical expertise in optimizing large-scale production AI systems for performance, cost, and latency.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training and LLM inference
- Implement similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability
- Invent state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to improve scalability, cost, latency, and throughput
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products that transform customer interactions
- Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in CS/AI/EE plus 6+ years experience, or Master's plus 4+ years
- At least 6 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java
- Experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
