BMO is seeking a Director of AI Architecture to lead enterprise-wide AI strategy and system design for its B2C banking division. This executive role involves defining reference architectures, driving Generative and Agentic AI adoption, and establishing responsible AI governance across hybrid cloud environments. The position requires overseeing cross-functional technical teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and translating complex AI capabilities into scalable, secure customer-facing solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect integrated AI IT systems aligning with business objectives and enterprise standards
- Lead planning and optimization of Generative AI, Agentic AI, and intelligent automation capabilities
- Develop AI blueprints, reference architectures, and governance frameworks for designated portfolios
- Establish and promote Responsible AI practices including fairness, transparency, and model governance
- Direct AI architecture transformation strategies across multiple business units and manage technical talent
Requirements
- 9+ years of relevant experience in AI architecture, cloud technologies, and IT strategy
- Expertise in AWS and Azure AI services, including SageMaker, Bedrock, and Azure OpenAI
- Strong background in AI security, data privacy, and compliance frameworks (SOC, HIPAA, GDPR)
