Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Principal AI Architect to define and lead enterprise-wide AI strategies, architectures, and platform standards. This role bridges technical execution and executive strategy, establishing scalable, secure, and responsible AI solutions spanning machine learning, generative AI, and intelligent agents. The architect will partner with cross-functional teams to drive digital transformation across forestry operations, supply chain, and corporate functions while ensuring governance and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve enterprise AI architecture, reference architectures, and technical standards
- Establish scalable, secure, and reusable AI design patterns and platform strategies
- Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, mentoring, and engineering guidance
- Partner with business, product, and technology leaders to align AI initiatives with strategic goals
- Embed Responsible AI principles focusing on security, governance, transparency, and cost efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's or PhD preferred
- 10+ years of experience designing distributed technology solutions on edge, cloud, and data platforms
- Deep expertise in modern AI technologies including ML, generative AI, and intelligent agent architectures
