BlackRock AI Labs seeks a Director of AI & ML Engineering to lead technical strategy and architecture for production-grade AI systems across financial services. Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for multidisciplinary AI/ML teams
Design, build, and operate production AI systems including generative AI, agents, and optimization engines
Develop reusable AI platforms and infrastructure to accelerate experimentation and deployment
Define evaluation, testing, and observability frameworks for non-deterministic AI applications
Optimize AI workloads for latency, throughput, security, and cost efficiency
Partner with business, data, and risk teams to transition solutions from concept to production

Requirements

12+ years of software engineering experience with complex production systems
6+ years deploying AI/ML or model-driven applications in production
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data-intensive applications
